NARVIE J. HARRIS TRADITIONAL THEME SCHOOL
“SEEKS TO GET STUDENTS ON NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLERS LIST”
As our country deals with these tough economic times, Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School is teaching its students to make right turns for their future by taking a L.E.F.T.
L.E.F.T. stands for the areas that we focus on which are our:
Literacy Initiative
Entrepreneurial Aspect
Fundraising Opportunity
Teaching Benefit
Since 2006, L.E.F.T has allowed students to tap into their creative skills by writing their own short stories and poems. The children then turn the collection into a published book. This is a great way to diversify the fundraising for our school. A portion of the money from sales will be given back to the young authors and poets who can spend it in their community.
This year Narvie J. Harris Traditional Theme School wants to raise the bar, help raise the community’s economy, and help this year’s young authors and poets sell at least 50,000 copies of their work. They are aiming for the New York Times Bestsellers list – which would be a first.
Can you help? We need help with many aspects of this endeavor. One way you may assist would be to help with media attention. We can set up interviews and even times for your camera crew to follow a group of students as they go from place to place hoping to make their 50,000 “Books Sold Challenge” go from a dream to a reality.
